Job Summary

Seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Accountants and Miscellaneous Insurance Underwriter to join a well-established, family-owned organization with decades of success in the industry. As an underwriter, you will play a key role in assessing risks, processing applications, and managing professional lines accounts, including those in the accountant niche.

Compensation Package

  • Salary Range: $65,000 - $110,000 (commensurate with experience)
  • Incentives: Annual performance-based bonus and yearly salary review/raise

Responsibilities

  • Act as the program administrator for the carrier, managing professional lines accounts, including those in the accountant niche.
  • Review applications, assess risks, and process quotes, endorsements, and policy issuances.
  • Collaborate with multiple independent agents to provide exceptional customer service and sales support.
  • Negotiate with carriers to secure optimal terms and pricing.
  • Quote and bind new and renewal business, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company standards.
  • Utilize proprietary software to manage underwriting processes efficiently.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Licensure/Designations: Property & Casualty (P&C) license is not required.
  • Experience: Open to candidates with varying levels of experience, including those transitioning from personal lines to professional lines. Professional lines experience is preferred.
  • Account Expertise: Familiarity with professional lines, particularly Errors & Omissions (E&O) insurance, is highly desirable.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in using proprietary systems and the ability to adapt to new software.
  • Soft Skills: Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to work independently without micromanagement.
