Commercial Lines Account Manager
Job Summary
Seeking a dedicated and experienced Commercial Lines Account Manager to join a team. This role is ideal for a professional with a strong background in commercial lines insurance and a passion for delivering exceptional client service.
Responsibilities
As a Commercial Lines Account Manager, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Managing all tasks related to policy/account maintenance for new and renewal business, claims, and billing situations.
- Preparing account submissions, reviewing quotes, and creating proposals for clients.
- Responding to client inquiries via phone, email, or in-person within 24 hours.
- Reviewing policy declarations and forms to ensure accuracy and alignment with client needs.
- Maintaining awareness of carrier products, underwriting guidelines, and rating platforms.
- Leading discussions with clients regarding existing coverages and recommending appropriate solutions.
- Identifying opportunities to cross-sell insurance products and provide account rounding.
- Assisting team members in servicing customer accounts and resolving backlogs.
- Maintaining accurate databases and adhering to agency procedures.
- Obtaining quotes for new business prospects and renewal accounts.
- Communicating underwriting guidelines and carrier appetites to the team.
- Building and maintaining relationships with carrier representatives and underwriters.
- Attending carrier sales functions and coordinating meetings with carrier representatives.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Licensure: Valid Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance License is required.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in commercial lines insurance preferred.
- Experience with small to mid-size accounts ($500 - $100K).
- Familiarity with EPIC software is a plus.
- Experience with defense contractors, marine contractors, cyber security contractors, IT contractors, or media/web design firms is a bonus.
- Skills:
- Strong time management and multitasking abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and insurance software systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
