Commercial Lines Account Manager

Job Summary

Seeking a dedicated and experienced Commercial Lines Account Manager to join a team. In this role, you will manage an assigned book of business and act as the primary liaison between a clients and insurance providers. Your primary responsibility will be to deliver exceptional service to a clients while identifying opportunities to cross-sell within the existing book of business. This is a full-time position within a supportive, team-oriented environment that values professional growth and development.

Compensation Package

  • Salary: Competitive, starting at $60,000 and up to $80,000+ based on experience.
  • Bonuses: Annual performance-based bonuses.
  • Commission: Earn commission on personal policies and 50% on new business.
  • Benefits: Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, Life Insurance, and a $550 monthly stipend for health insurance.
  • Paid Time Off: Generous PTO policy, including 8 paid holidays and a floating holiday.
  • Work Schedule: Hybrid work model available after 90 days (1 day remote, with potential for 2-3 days remote for highly experienced candidates). Summer Fridays with rotating half-days.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients by exceeding their expectations.
  • Assess client needs and recommend suitable insurance plans from our extensive network of national carriers.
  • Prepare proposals and applications, secure client signatures, and ensure timely submission to carriers.
  • Manage renewals, including gathering necessary information and delivering renewal documents.
  • Negotiate pricing with carriers and quote/sell commercial line policies.
  • Handle agency billing, follow up on outstanding claims, and assist in their resolution.
  • Address terminations and cancellations within 72 hours of receipt.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of all client interactions.
  • Actively seek referrals and generate new business through networking and existing client relationships.
  • Adhere to company systems, procedures, and insurance regulations.
  • Provide consistent and timely communication to clients through various channels, including phone calls, emails, and newsletters.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Active Property and Casualty Insurance license.
  • In-depth knowledge of commercial insurance underwriting, coverage, and rate analysis.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Effective negotiation and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong mathematical aptitude.
  • Ability to work independently and demonstrate technical proficiency.
  • Experience with Epic software is preferred.
  • Prior experience as a Commercial Lines Account Manager is highly desirable.
