Senior Account Manager / Team Lead – Commercial Lines
Job Summary
Seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Account Manager / Team Lead – Commercial Lines to provide exceptional client service and advisory support for a portfolio of commercial accounts while leading a team of Commercial Account Managers. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in commercial insurance account management and team leadership, with a focus on building lasting client relationships, mentoring team members, and driving operational excellence. This role offers a potential growth path into a Department Manager position.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support a team of Commercial Account Managers by establishing priorities, creating structured work plans, and providing ongoing guidance and mentorship.
- Provide training, coaching, and professional development opportunities to team members.
- Manage and service complex commercial insurance accounts.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, carriers, producers, and internal stakeholders.
- Oversee new client onboarding and account renewal processes while advocating for client needs.
- Identify operational and exposure-related risks and provide appropriate coverage recommendations.
- Resolve coverage questions, policy concerns, and service issues in a professional and timely manner.
- Collaborate with agency leadership to support growth initiatives, including account rounding and program development.
- Serve as a technical resource and liaison between carriers and clients.
- Maintain and expand industry knowledge through continuing education, professional development, and industry designations.
- Contribute to the enhancement of agency workflows, processes, and documentation standards.
- Attend client meetings alongside producers as needed.
- Adhere to agency procedures, compliance standards, and E&O guidelines.
- Participate actively in department and company meetings.
- Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Holds an active P&C (Property and Casualty) insurance license.
- Minimum of 5 years of commercial insurance account management experience within an agency or risk management environment.
- Minimum of 2 years of team leadership or supervisory experience.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Analytical problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
- Exceptional customer service and relationship management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Team-oriented with a positive and collaborative approach.
- Familiarity with insurance carrier rating systems.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with agency management software.
Compensation Package
- Salary Range: $100,000 - $140,000 annually.
