Senior Account Manager / Team Lead – Commercial Lines

Job Summary

Seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Account Manager / Team Lead – Commercial Lines to provide exceptional client service and advisory support for a portfolio of commercial accounts while leading a team of Commercial Account Managers. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in commercial insurance account management and team leadership, with a focus on building lasting client relationships, mentoring team members, and driving operational excellence. This role offers a potential growth path into a Department Manager position.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support a team of Commercial Account Managers by establishing priorities, creating structured work plans, and providing ongoing guidance and mentorship.
  • Provide training, coaching, and professional development opportunities to team members.
  • Manage and service complex commercial insurance accounts.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, carriers, producers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Oversee new client onboarding and account renewal processes while advocating for client needs.
  • Identify operational and exposure-related risks and provide appropriate coverage recommendations.
  • Resolve coverage questions, policy concerns, and service issues in a professional and timely manner.
  • Collaborate with agency leadership to support growth initiatives, including account rounding and program development.
  • Serve as a technical resource and liaison between carriers and clients.
  • Maintain and expand industry knowledge through continuing education, professional development, and industry designations.
  • Contribute to the enhancement of agency workflows, processes, and documentation standards.
  • Attend client meetings alongside producers as needed.
  • Adhere to agency procedures, compliance standards, and E&O guidelines.
  • Participate actively in department and company meetings.
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Holds an active P&C (Property and Casualty) insurance license.
  • Minimum of 5 years of commercial insurance account management experience within an agency or risk management environment.
  • Minimum of 2 years of team leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Analytical problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
  • Exceptional customer service and relationship management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Team-oriented with a positive and collaborative approach.
  • Familiarity with insurance carrier rating systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with agency management software.

Compensation Package

  • Salary Range: $100,000 - $140,000 annually.
  • Bonus opportunity based on individual and company performance.
