Commercial Lines Team Leader

Job Summary

Seeking an experienced Commercial Lines Team Leader to support the growth and development of a commercial insurance operation. This role combines hands-on account management with leadership responsibilities, focusing on servicing a complex book of business while contributing to process development, operational structure, and long-term strategy. The position requires strong technical expertise, carrier relationships, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the full lifecycle of a commercial lines book of business, including marketing, quoting, binding, renewals, endorsements, billing, and claims coordination.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing high-level service and strategic guidance.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with carriers to secure competitive terms, pricing, and coverage solutions.

  • Handle complex accounts across multiple industries, including real estate, construction, and contractor segments.

  • Develop and implement workflows, processes, and best practices to support operational scalability.

  • Support hiring, training, and mentoring of team members as the organization grows.

  • Collaborate with leadership on business strategy, market positioning, and growth initiatives.

  • Ensure accuracy, compliance, and proper documentation within agency management software.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Minimum of 7 years of commercial lines insurance experience with a strong generalist background.

  • Holds an active P&C (Property and Casualty) insurance license.

  • Proven experience handling accounts across real estate, construction, and contractor segments.

  • Strong knowledge of multiple lines of coverage, including Property, General Liability, Auto, Umbrella/Excess, and Professional lines.

  • Experience managing accounts with full-cycle servicing responsibilities.

  • Strong marketing and placement experience with both admitted and non-admitted carriers.

  • Demonstrated ability to operate in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.

  • Leadership experience or readiness to step into a team leadership role.

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Experience with agency management software.
