Job description

Position Overview:
This role is responsible for managing a designated book of business while fostering long-term client relationships. Responsibilities include responding to daily client inquiries, producing analytics, coordinating with vendors, creating client deliverables, and upholding service and quality standards. This individual manages a smaller book with less complex accounts and supports senior team members as needed. They are also responsible for driving revenue growth within their assigned clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a subject matter expert on employer-sponsored Health & Welfare benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and voluntary plans

  • Manage a personal book of business valued at approximately $400,000+

  • Provide day-to-day support for clients and escalate issues when necessary

  • Support team leaders and senior account staff in servicing shared accounts

  • Identify and implement service improvements and process efficiencies

  • Lead renewal processes and RFP coordination, analyze proposals, and assist in vendor negotiations

  • Mentor junior team members by delegating tasks and reviewing deliverables

  • Stay current on industry trends, compliance requirements, and product updates

  • Prepare and participate in client meetings, including agenda creation and material coordination

  • Maintain accurate client records in appropriate systems (e.g., CRM or benefits tracking tools)

Qualifications:

  • Active Life, Accident, and Health Insurance License required

  • Minimum 2 years of client-facing experience in employee benefits at a brokerage or consulting firm

  • Familiarity with benefits administration, healthcare regulations, and carrier markets

  • Able to work independently while anticipating client and team needs

  • Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; professional certifications (e.g., GBA, CEBS) a plus
