About the Role
An established law firm is seeking an experienced Trial / Insurance Defense Attorney. This position is ideal for a litigator who thrives in the courtroom, enjoys depositions, and has a passion for defending clients in complex personal injury and insurance defense cases. Trucking litigation experience is strongly preferred. Attorneys may work remotely from anywhere in Texas or in-office if located near the firm’s physical location. Candidates must be licensed to practice in Texas.
Responsibilities
- Manage cases from intake through trial, including discovery, motion practice, and client communication
- Take and defend depositions, attend hearings, and argue motions in court
- Handle defense matters including general liability, premises liability, trucking and auto accidents, and products liability cases
- Work independently while collaborating with colleagues and support staff
- Provide excellent client service while maintaining strong case management skills
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
- Active license to practice law in Texas
- 5+ years of litigation experience, ideally with an emphasis on insurance defense
- Strong deposition and courtroom skills
- Trucking litigation experience highly preferred
- Ability to manage cases independently while contributing in a collaborative environment
