Senior Employee Benefits Account Manager – Remote
A regional insurance brokerage is seeking a Senior Employee Benefits Account Manager to join its growing Customer Success team. This key individual will play a pivotal role in maintaining client satisfaction and loyalty by providing exceptional service and value. The Senior Account Manager serves as the primary liaison between the agency and its clients, ensuring seamless execution of benefit programs and supporting strategic, analytical, and operational goals. This role reports directly to the Director of Client Services.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership within the account team and maintain strong client relationships.
- Manage daily service requests for an assigned book of business, including enrollments, terminations, coverage analysis, claims resolution, and policy review.
- Review contracts and assist with carrier negotiations as needed.
- Support producers through the renewal process, including renewal strategy, marketing, and proposal preparation.
- Develop and distribute RFPs; analyze and compare carrier quotes for accuracy and competitiveness.
- Oversee post–open enrollment activities such as summary plan descriptions, CMS filings, and certificates of insurance.
- Ensure client compliance with healthcare reform and ERISA regulations; maintain compliance timelines.
- Coordinate with internal resources including actuarial, analytics, and claims specialists to support client needs.
- Manage new client onboarding processes and ensure accurate data and documentation.
- Participate in training sessions and continuing education to maintain current product and regulatory knowledge.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in employee benefits account management or client service.
- Holds an active Life, Accident, and Health insurance license.
- Strong understanding of CRM strategies related to client acquisition, retention, and engagement.
- Demonstrated experience managing client relationships and resolving complex issues.
- Excellent project management, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
- Strong analytical abilities with comfort working with data and trends.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
- Proficient in both fully insured and self-funded markets.
- Familiarity with key regional markets across the Northeast.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM platforms.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $100,000–$130,000 annually, + commission and bonus opportunities.
