Senior Employee Benefits Account Executive

Job Summary

Seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Employee Benefits Account Executive to join a growing team. This role is a unique opportunity to work with a niche market of international and domestic clients, primarily Asian and Japanese companies, in a collaborative, consultative, and creative environment. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Employee Benefits, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in managing large group accounts, providing strategic guidance, and contributing to the growth and leadership of the department.

This position is based in California and requires in-office presence twice a month.

Compensation Package

  • Base Salary: $130,000 - $150,000 annually + commission opportunities
  • Benefits: Comprehensive benefits package provided
  • Work Arrangement: Hybrid (2 days per month in-office)

Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of large group accounts ranging from 300 to 5,000 lives, with approximately 50% of the book consisting of self-funded groups.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for carriers, clients, and third-party/claims management contacts.
  • Provide expert guidance on market conditions, internal changes, plan design, and cost analysis.
  • Assist the production team with quoting new business (approximately 3-5 times per year).
  • Mentor and support team members, with the potential to grow into an Assistant Vice President (AVP) role.
  • Identify and address gaps in team knowledge, processes, and technology to enhance departmental efficiency.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Licenses/Certifications: Active Life & Health (L&H) license required.
  • Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience in employee benefits, with a strong background in self-funded plans.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in tools such as Ease, Employee Navigator, Benelinx, and familiarity with data management and AI tools like Springbuk, Plansite, and Coverflow.
  • Soft Skills:
