Technical Claim Manager - MPL - E&O

Job Summary

Seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Claim Manager to join a team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing professional liability claims, including Errors and Omissions (E&O) and Architects & Engineers (A&E) claims. You will work proactively to resolve claims efficiently, fairly, and economically while maintaining compliance with best practices.

Compensation Package

  • Base Salary: $120,000 - $155,000 per year
  • Bonus: Up to 15-20% annual bonus

Responsibilities

  • Manage professional liability claims, including E&O and A&E litigation, to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Assess and analyze coverage issues, issuing appropriate coverage letters and documentation.
  • Conduct timely investigations and establish appropriate reserves.
  • Pursue risk transfer opportunities, including contractual indemnity and additional insured issues.
  • Handle claims in compliance with best practices and resolve them in a timely manner.
  • Attend mediations, settlement conferences, and trials as necessary.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, insurance, or a related field. A Juris Doctor (JD) is preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in claims handling or litigation, with meaningful experience in professional liability claims.
  • Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of case law, statutes, and procedures relevant to professional liability claims.
    • Proactive approach to investigation, risk transfer, claim handling, and resolution.
    • Superior writing and communication skills for effective collaboration with insureds, claimants, underwriters, and management.
