Technical Claim Manager - Personal Umbrella (Bodily Injury Liability/Auto/Premises) Major Case Unit

Job Summary

Seeking an experienced and highly skilled Technical Claim Manager to join a growing Major Case Unit. This role focuses on managing complex Personal Umbrella Liability claims, with a strong emphasis on bodily injury liability, auto, and premises claims. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of excess claims, litigation strategy, and coverage analysis. Compensation Package

  • Base Salary: $140,000 - $165,000/year 
  • Bonus: 15% target bonus plan

Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of 80-100 complex, litigated Personal Umbrella Liability claims.
  • Conduct thorough investigations into liability, damages, and coverage issues.
  • Draft and issue professional coverage correspondence, including complex coverage letters.
  • Collaborate with defense counsel, primary carriers, and internal stakeholders to ensure optimal claim outcomes.
  • Monitor primary carrier handling to ensure adherence to best practices.
  • Provide strategic guidance on litigation and resolution strategies.
  • Maintain compliance with company best practices and industry standards.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 6 years of experience in auto liability claims (experience with umbrella/excess claims strongly preferred).
  • Proven expertise in handling large exposure third-party claims and policy limit demands.
  • Strong knowledge of liability case law, statutes, and claims procedures in key jurisdictions.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex coverage issues and draft professional correspondence.
  • Exceptional analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while working independently.
  • Litigation experience and strategic thinking are essential.
