Labor Day – A Time for BBQ’s, Pool Parties, and Thinking About Your Career!

For many Labor Day signifies the close of summer. Vacations are wrapping up, kids are back in school, and the weather is cooling down.

But what is Labor Day? The official definition from U.S. Department of Labor states Labor Day is a public holiday to honor the American labor movement and the contributions that works have made in strength, prosperity, laws, and well- being of the country.

Reading the actual definition- what comes to mind when you think of your current career? Do you feel like your company values you, are you challenged by your work, is time for change? If you answered “yes” to any of those questions, the long weekend may be the perfect time to consider a new opportunity.

September and October are two of the best months to explore the job market.  Companies are focused on building their teams for the upcoming year, and it’s a good time to start a new opportunity because you will be up and running before the Holidays.

In between BBQ’s and last-minute beach trips this upcoming weekend, if you find yourself thinking it might be time to make a professional change, send your resume to joinus@jonusgroup.com.
