Controller/Accounting Director

An insurance agency in Virginia is seeking a Controller/Accounting Director to join their team and supervise their company's financials. This person should be able to supervise company budgets, trends, acquisitions, devise new procedures, structure compensation plans, assist with implementing protocols, have corporate tax knowledge, and detail financial reporting.

Insurance industry and Applied Epic is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Drive the company’s financials.
• Perform risk management by analyzing the organization’s liabilities and investments.
• Decide on investment strategies.
• Control and evaluate the organization’s plans and capital structure.
• Ensure cash flow is appropriate for the organization’s operations.
• Supervise 4-person department personnel.
• Support and participate with the company Executive team.
• Prepare reliable current and forecasting reports.
• Assist with managing corporate taxes.
• Assist Operations department as needed.
• Reconcile other partnerships our agency has.

Skills

• Proven experience as finance officer/controller or relevant role.
• In depth knowledge of corporate financials.
• Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods.
• Proficient in the use of MS Office. (Applied Epic insurance software knowledge is a plus)
• Ability to strategize and solve problems.
• Strong leadership and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication, detail and people skills.
• An analytical mind, comfortable with numbers.
• Insurance industry is a plus

Benefits:

• Competitive Salary: $95,000-$120,000
