Commercial Lines Broking Specialist (Transportation)

Job Summary

Seeking a highly motivated and experienced Commercial Lines Broking Specialist (Transportation) to join a dynamic team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with middle-market accounts and specialty P&C market segments, including surplus lines. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing and facilitating the movement of business to partner carriers, negotiating coverage and premiums, and ensuring the achievement of monthly production goals. This is a hybrid position, requiring in-office presence three days per week.

Compensation Package

  • Salary: $75,000 - $80,000 annually

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with colleagues to facilitate the movement of business to partner carriers.
  • Run reports with specific parameters and review existing books of business for consolidation purposes.
  • Engage in regular discussions with partner carriers to maintain strong relationships.
  • Independently manage assigned projects with partner carriers.
  • Distribute carrier quotes to service teams and follow up on bind status.
  • Negotiate coverage and premiums on quotes with carriers.
  • Bind business, including processing payments.
  • Track results of business movement and ensure monthly production goals are met.
  • Provide exceptional service to clients and maintain effective relationships with co-workers and trading partners.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Licenses/Certifications: Property & Casualty, Commercial Lines license required (minimum 5 years of experience).
  • Experience: Strong knowledge and experience in commercial lines servicing, including remarketing and new business placement. Expertise in middle-market accounts and specialty P&C market segments, including surplus lines.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (creating, formatting, and evaluating formulas), Word, and other MS Office products. Experience with Applied/Epic or similar agency management software is preferred but not mandatory.
