Job Title: Compliance Specialist
Prominent specialty insurance carrier is seeking a Compliance Specialist to join their growing team. The Compliance Specialist will work directly with multiple departments, including Legal, Underwriting, Actuarial, and IT, during the process of filing forms and rates, and implementing those filings internally once approvals are received.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with the development and preparation of all specialty rate, rule, and form filings.
- Prepare and submit specialty filings via SERFF/RAMP.
- Review state objections and submit approved responses to applicable states.
- Oversee the need for filing extensions, resubmissions, and withdrawals while taking into consideration state restrictions and deadlines.
- Communicate with regulators as needed to facilitate filing approvals.
- Coordinate and document all activities surrounding the filing, approval, and disapproval of all specialty filings.
- Assist in the implementation of approved rates, rules, and forms, including updating internal tracking tools and communicating with IT on any rate, rule or form changes required in the system.
- Understand product initiatives and participate in the product planning process by analyzing competitor products and tracking state regulatory changes.
- Assist the Compliance Manager in the development of compliance training materials and best practices.
- Help facilitate a response to both internal and State Insurance Department audits, including coordinating with other departments and compiling necessary information.
Experience and Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in the insurance regulatory/state filings field.
- Advanced working knowledge of the SERFF or RAMP system.
- Superior written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across all levels of the organization.
- Strong organizational and project/time management skills.
- Flexible and open to a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
