Heavy Equipment & Cargo Claims Examiner
Job Summary
Seeking a highly skilled and experienced Heavy Equipment & Cargo Claims Examiner to join a team. This role involves handling complex commercial auto claims, including litigated and non-litigated cases, with a focus on heavy equipment, cargo, property damage (PD), and some bodily injury (BI) claims. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in claims management, litigation, and appraisal processes, with the ability to manage a diverse caseload from start to finish. This is a remote position, with the option for a hybrid work arrangement.
Compensation Package
- Salary Range: $85,000 - $110,000 per year
- Employment Type: Permanent

Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of 75-125 claims, including 50% litigated files.
- Handle claims involving heavy equipment, cargo, property damage, and bodily injury, including commercial vehicles such as 18-wheelers, garbage trucks, dump trucks, and commercial buses.
- Conduct thorough investigations and manage claims from inception to resolution.
- Review and challenge appraisals, leveraging expertise in heavy equipment intricacies.
- Work collaboratively with legal teams on litigated files.
- Ensure compliance with applicable state regulations and company policies.
- Provide exceptional customer service to clients and stakeholders.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience handling complex commercial auto claims.
- Proven experience with bodily injury claims and litigation processes.
- Familiarity with jurisdictions such as Texas, Florida, California, Georgia, and New York is highly desirable.
- Active adjuster license in any state, with preference for Texas and Florida licenses.
- Bachelor’s degree is required.
- Strong background in managing claims from start to finish, including litigation.
- Appraisal experience with heavy equipment is highly desired.
- Stable work history with demonstrated career progression.
- Previous carrier experience is highly preferred.
