Position Summary:

This position involves day-to-day responsibilities that require independent judgment and discretion while supporting a book of business and contributing to the department’s ongoing success.

Essential Functions & Basic Duties:

  • Update existing accounts.
  • Speak directly with clients and carriers.
  • Initiate and create comparative spreadsheets, summaries of insurance and proposals.
  • Quoting on all lines of business from carrier websites.
  • Maintain integrity of system activities and client detail.
  • Adherence, compliance and full utilization of all technology tools (i.e. EPIC, Outlook, etc).
  • Work collaboratively with producers, account executives, clients and the SterlingRisk Personal Lines team to service existing and new accounts.
  • Collaborate with and manage the day-to-day servicing needs of the account executive.
  • Issuance of binder, ID card, certificates, evidence of property & cancellation requests.
  • Help prepare and coordinate market presentations for Personal Lines clients.
  • Manage follow up to ensure timely receipt of quotations and policies in accordance with renewal/expiration list procedure.
  • Determine appropriate billing processes in accordance with departmental guidelines and make decisions supporting best practices after considering such guidelines.
  • Monitor renewal dashboard for account executive.
  • Proper coding into EPIC of non-renewals, cancellations, re-writes, etc.
  • Process insured, producer and carrier requests.
  • Correspond with clients and carriers; evaluate courses of action, as needed; make appropriate decisions in accordance with best practices of SterlingRisk.
  • Order updated renewal information.
  • Respond directly to or refer insured and underwriter’s questions.
  • Manage direct bill procedures (not including agency bill), dealing directly with clients on all billing issues.
  • Process credit card and checking account payments, as well as EFT payments for clients.
  • Ensure all renewal information in EPIC correctly reflects renewal issued by carrier.
  • Process endorsements, including endorsement checking, and accurate download into EPIC.
  • Follow up on broker of record.
  • Compliance with carrier Underwriting Guidelines.
  • Read flood elevation certificates and wind mitigation forms.
  • Quote and run flood determination reports, as well as other carrier quoting (auto, home, vac, umbrella and flood).
  • Run MVR and CLUE reports, completing applications and obtaining requirements from the carrier to obtain a quote.
  • Prepare all required client signatures via electronic signature.
  • Complete all required surplus lines documents to underwriting for binding.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Proficiency with Outlook, Excel, Word, and Docu-sign
  • Experience with EPIC or Applied preferred
  • Personal Lines related product knowledge
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work directly and efficiently with clients
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills

Education and Work Experience:

  • Minimum two-year college degree preferred
  • Minimum of 3+ years insurance experience in Personal Lines
  • Property & Casualty Broker’s License
