Senior Claims Specialist - GL & Construction Defect
Job Summary
Seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Claims Specialist with expertise in General Liability (GL) and Construction Defect claims. This is a fully remote, permanent position offering an exciting opportunity to manage a diverse portfolio of claims, including bodily injury, property damage, and construction defect cases. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in claims adjusting, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to work independently while maintaining a collaborative approach.

Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of moderate-to-high-complexity General Liability claims, including bodily injury, property damage, and personal and advertising injury.
- Provide oversight to Third Party Administrators (TPAs) while handling a personal caseload of claims.
- Investigate, analyze, and evaluate coverage, liability, and damages from claim inception to resolution.
- Draft coverage position letters with Claim Manager approval.
- Set timely and accurate claim reserves and make recommendations to the Claim Manager when necessary.
- Manage litigated claims in partnership with defense counsel, attending mediations, settlement conferences, and trials as needed.
- Evaluate settlement demands, negotiate resolutions, and authorize payments within authority levels.
- Communicate effectively with policyholders, attorneys, experts, and agents/brokers.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, legal standards, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
- 7+ years of experience managing Commercial General Liability claims, with at least 2 years of Construction Defect experience.
- Experience in bodily injury claims and TPA oversight is highly desirable.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and decision-making skills with sound judgment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to convey information clearly and concisely.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and claims management systems.
- Ability to manage high-volume workloads while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
- Active Adjuster licenses in required states.
- CPCU or other industry designations are a plus.
