Accounting Account Manager
Job Summary
Seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounting Account Manager to oversee the full lifecycle of payables, commissions, and agency bill workflows. This role is designed for a technical accounting professional who thrives in the insurance brokerage environment and enjoys managing financial operations across multiple entities.
Location: Greater Cleveland, OH Area – Hybrid
Salary: $60,000 – $65,000
Responsibilities
- Process and manage vendor invoices across multiple entities, ensuring accuracy, proper coding, and timely payment
- Reconcile vendor statements and independently resolve discrepancies
- Maintain vendor records, payment schedules, and supporting documentation
- Assist with month-end close activities, including payable accruals
- Prepare, calculate, and process producer and agency commission statements
- Ensure commission calculations align with producer agreements and applicable arrangements
- Investigate and resolve commission discrepancies in collaboration with internal teams
- Maintain accurate and auditable commission documentation
- Oversee outsourced agency bill service provider related to carrier and premium transactions
- Apply and reconcile agency bill activity within AMS360
- Support agency bill account reconciliations and variance resolution
- Utilize AMS360 for agency bill and commission workflows
- Generate payable, commission, and agency bill reports as needed
- Maintain organized, audit-ready financial records
- Document procedures and ensure consistent execution across entities
Qualifications/Requirements
- 3 – 5 years of accounting or accounts payable experience within an insurance agency or brokerage required
- Multi-entity or multi-office agency experience strongly preferred
- Hands-on AMS360 experience required
- Associate’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or related field preferred; equivalent insurance agency accounting experience may substitute
- Strong understanding of insurance commission structures and agency bill workflows
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and resolve issues with minimal oversight
- Strong documentation and process management skills
