Commercial Account Manager

Job Summary

Seeking a highly skilled and experienced Commercial Account Manager to join a team in a full-time capacity. This role involves managing and supporting a commercial book of business, ensuring exceptional service delivery, and identifying opportunities for growth. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial insurance, with the ability to independently handle day-to-day servicing, renewals, cross-selling, and policy changes with precision and professionalism.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and service an assigned book of commercial accounts
  • Handle renewals, endorsements, certificates, audits, and policy changes
  • Gather and review underwriting information to ensure accurate policy ratings
  • Conduct thorough coverage and exposure reviews during renewals
  • Process vehicle additions and deletions, ensuring all required documentation is obtained
  • Communicate professionally and promptly with carriers and clients
  • Identify coverage gaps and cross-sell additional products when appropriate
  • Maintain accurate and detailed documentation in the agency management system

Qualifications/Requirements

Required:

  • 3–4+ years of hands-on commercial lines experience
  • Strong understanding of:
    • All commercial lines of business
    • Common underwriting requirements and exposures
  • Proven ability to independently manage renewals and mid-term changes or additions
  • Knowledge of required information for vehicle changes and policy endorsements
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and follow-up skills
  • Active insurance license

Preferred:

  • Agency experience
  • Experience working with multiple carriers
  • Currently employed in a similar commercial insurance role
  • Familiarity with ACORD forms, Excel, and Microsoft Office products
