Commercial Lines Analyst/Data Analyst
Job Summary
Seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Commercial Lines Analyst/Data Analyst to join a team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Commercial Lines Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance, with a focus on CAT modeling and property risk assessment. This role involves utilizing advanced tools and methodologies to analyze natural hazard exposures, develop risk assessments, and provide actionable insights to support client portfolios.

Responsibilities
- Conduct CAT modeling and property risk assessments for commercial real estate using tools such as AIR Worldwide, RiskMeter (CoreLogic), CatNet (Swiss Re), Hazard Hub, and FEMA flood maps.
- Develop, validate, and maintain detailed Statements of Values (SOVs) by collecting and analyzing building characteristic data, geographic/hazard data, and restoration cost inputs.
- Analyze flood, wind, seismic, and other natural hazard exposures for client portfolios; interpret model outputs, identify key risk drivers, and provide actionable recommendations.
- Collaborate with client-facing teams to prepare deliverables, including risk review reports, exception summaries, compliance documentation, pre-closing reviews, and renewal monitoring.
- Present findings internally and externally, effectively communicating risk insights, model results, and exposure trends in a clear and actionable manner.
- Stay updated on property risk modeling tools, insurance markets (property P&C, CAT exposures), regulatory/lender insurance requirements, and industry best practices.
- Assist with onboarding new clients and projects by scoping risk reviews, capturing required data, establishing modeling workflows, and ensuring data integrity and process consistency.
- (Optional) Support portfolio-level loss forecasting, benchmarking, and insurance program design in collaboration with underwriting and advisory teams.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Proven experience in Commercial Lines P&C insurance with a focus on CAT modeling and property risk assessment.
- Hands-on expertise with Verisk AIR Worldwide and CoreLogic RiskMeter.
- Familiarity with Swiss Re CatNet, Hazard Hub, and FEMA flood analysis.
- Licensed 2-20 (P&C) and 1-20 (Surplus Lines) preferred.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proficiency in developing and maintaining Statements of Values (SOVs).
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- CEEM designation is a plus.
