Experienced Benefits Account Executive (EBAE)

Job Summary

Seeking a highly motivated and experienced Benefits Account Executive (EBAE) to join a growing Life & Health (L&H) department. This is a unique opportunity to work closely with the department leader, contribute to the development of a rapidly expanding division, and play a pivotal role in shaping its future. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a strong background in employee benefits, capable of managing all aspects of servicing and marketing while helping to build out the department. This role offers significant growth potential, with the opportunity to eventually lead the department.

Compensation Package

  • Competitive base salary up to $100,000.
  • Flexible compensation structure available (e.g., $85,000 base + 40% new business commission / 20% renewal commission) for candidates interested in a sales component.
  • Hybrid work schedule: 3 days in-office, 2 days remote.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary servicing professional for the Life & Health department, managing a range of group sizes (2 to 500 employees, with a focus on groups of 25 to 250 employees).
  • Handle all aspects of marketing, including marketing strategies and execution, until additional team members are hired.
  • Provide exceptional service for a variety of lines of coverage, including Major Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, Disability, Voluntary Worksite, FSAs, and more.
  • Manage and service groups with various funding models, including Level Funded, Self-Funded, and Fully Insured plans.
  • Collaborate closely with the department leader to develop and implement strategies for growth and operational efficiency.
  • Train and mentor future hires as the department expands.
  • Utilize agency management systems, with a preference for candidates proficient in EPIC.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Active Life & Health license.
  • Proven experience in employee benefits servicing, with the ability to independently manage accounts and marketing efforts.
  • Strong knowledge of various funding models, including Level Funded, Self-Funded, and Fully Insured groups.
  • Proficiency in agency management systems, with a preference for experience using EPIC.
  • Highly self-sufficient and capable of thriving in a fast-paced, unstructured environment.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with leadership while also operating independently.
  • A proactive and entrepreneurial mindset, with a passion for contributing to the growth and success of a department.
