Employee Benefits Account Executive
Job Summary
Seeking an experienced, motivated, and customer-focused Employee Benefits Account Executive to join a growing team. This role involves acting as a strategic partner for clients by managing and servicing their employee benefits accounts. The ideal candidate possesses strong communication, account management, and problem-solving skills to provide tailored benefits solutions that address client needs.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary contact for clients, managing their employee benefits accounts, including renewals, modifications, and additions.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships to understand their needs, objectives, and challenges.
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop and implement customized benefit plans that align with client goals and budgets.
- Stay informed on industry trends, compliance regulations, and market solutions to provide strategic benefit options.
- Conduct plan reviews, cost analyses, and compliance evaluations to maintain high client satisfaction.
- Facilitate open enrollment meetings, deliver presentations, and educate employees on benefit plan options.
- Act as a liaison between clients and insurance carriers to negotiate the best plan options and rates.
- Address escalated client inquiries, resolve discrepancies, and handle service-related issues efficiently.
- Prepare and analyze reports, offering clients actionable insights and updates on their benefits programs.
- Contribute to the ongoing improvement of processes, tools, and workflows within the benefits department.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Proven experience as an Account Manager or Executive within employee benefits or a related area.
- Strong knowledge of employee benefits plans, including medical, dental, vision, retirement, life insurance, and disability offerings.
- Familiarity with applicable federal and state laws such as ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, ERISA, etc.
- Excellent interpersonal, relationship-building, and customer service skills across diverse industries.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to design and propose cost-effective and compliant benefits solutions.
- Highly organized with the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including group presentation abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with benefits administration platforms or CRM systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional certifications such as Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) or Group Benefits Associate (GBA).
- Experience in a client-facing role within an insurance brokerage, agency, or consulting firm.
