Engineering Lines Executive Underwriter
Job Summary
Seeking an experienced Engineering Lines Executive Underwriter to join a team. This role is responsible for driving profitable portfolio development across engineering lines through technical expertise, disciplined underwriting, and strategic client engagement. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in underwriting Engineering Lines and Builders Risk, coupled with excellent relationship-building and negotiation skills.
Compensation Package
- Base Salary Range: $150,000 - $250,000 (commensurate with experience, education, and location)

Responsibilities
- Underwrite Engineering Lines and Builders Risk (CAR/EAR, Electronic Equipment, CPM/CPE, Machinery Breakdown, ALOP/DSU) within delegated authority.
- Negotiate terms, conditions, and pricing to ensure sustainable profitability.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers and clients; represent the company at meetings and industry events.
- Identify new business opportunities and support growth strategies.
- Manage and monitor portfolio performance, implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines, pricing tools, and governance standards.
- Collaborate effectively within a global team.
- Mentor junior underwriters and contribute to product development and market strategies.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in Engineering Lines and Builders Risk underwriting.
- In-depth expertise in CAR/EAR projects, CPE/CPM, DSU, and Machinery Breakdown risks.
- Proven ability to analyze complex risks and make sound underwriting decisions.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills, with an established network in the Central US region preferred.
- Experience working with large industrial clients and multinational programs is highly desirable.
