Financial Planner
Position Overview
Our client is seeking a Financial Planner to join their growing team. You will provide comprehensive financial planning support to advisors and clients, playing a key role in the development, analysis, and implementation of financial strategies. This position partners closely with advisory teams to deliver high-quality financial plans, conduct in-depth analysis, and support strategic initiatives across the firm’s financial planning function. This role is not a sales position and focuses on delivering sophisticated planning support and enhancing the client planning experience.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Planning & Client Support

Prepare and develop comprehensive financial plans including retirement projections, cash flow analyses, education planning, insurance analyses, and estate planning scenarios.

Conduct detailed financial modeling and scenario analysis to support client recommendations.

Identify planning opportunities based on financial plan analysis and advisor discussions.

Draft financial plans and supporting materials for advisor review and client presentations.

Perform specialized analyses including Social Security, mortgage, tax planning, and other client-specific requests.

Collaborate with clients’ external advisors (CPAs, attorneys, etc.) to gather relevant data and ensure accurate planning outcomes.
Financial Planning Department Leadership & Process Management

Support and enhance the firm’s financial planning process, systems, and tools to ensure efficiency, scalability, and high-quality client outcomes.

Oversee financial plan preparation across the planning team, ensuring consistency, quality, and timely delivery.

Lead initiatives to improve and standardize financial planning workflows and client experience.

Evaluate financial planning technologies and processes to ensure alignment with firm strategy and industry standards.

Partner with advisors and leadership to support firm-wide financial planning initiatives and strategic projects.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or related field.

5+ years of experience in financial planning, wealth management, or advisory services.

Demonstrated experience developing and implementing comprehensive financial plans.

CFP designation preferred (or progress toward certification).

Series 65 license required.
Technical Skills

Experience with financial planning software (eMoney preferred).

CRM experience (Salesforce preferred).

Portfolio management platform experience (Orion preferred).

Experience with tax and estate planning tools such as Holistiplan or FP Alpha preferred.

Knowledge of advanced tax planning concepts, including equity compensation (RSUs, ISOs, NQs) and international tax considerations, is a plus.

Compensation & Benefits
Base Salary: $75,000 – $125,000 depending on experience
Bonus: Up to 15% performance bonus
