Senior Workers’ Compensation Claims Adjuster
Job Summary
Seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Workers’ Compensation Claims Adjuster to join a team. This is a hybrid role requiring onsite presence two days a week at one of the office locations. The ideal candidate will have jurisdictional expertise and experience handling Workers’ Compensation claim. This position involves managing claims of medium complexity/severity, including litigated files, and requires strong analytical and communication skills.
Compensation Package
- Hourly Pay: $36 - $40/hour (up to $42/hour for highly qualified candidates)
- Employment Type: Temp-to-hire
- Duration: Minimum of 30 days, with potential for extension to 90 days or more
Responsibilities
- Investigate and analyze Workers’ Compensation claims of medium complexity/severity, including litigated files, to ensure proper resolution.
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with agents, policyholders, and internal stakeholders.
- Review and interpret commercial insurance policies to determine coverage and communicate findings.
- Develop and execute action plans to resolve claims, evaluate damages, and negotiate settlements in a timely manner.
- Establish and maintain accurate reserves for each claim to reflect financial exposure.
- Engage and manage external resources as needed to achieve optimal claim resolutions while controlling costs.
- Work closely with legal counsel to manage litigated claims.
- Utilize Guidewire (Claims Center) software for claims management, if applicable.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience handling Workers’ Compensation indemnity claims of medium complexity/severity.
- Jurisdictional expertise in Arizona claims is required, along with licensing in Arizona.
- Experience handling claims in Utah, Texas, and Colorado, with strong litigation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with Guidewire (Claims Center) is preferred.
- AIC or SLA certification is preferred.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to build positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must have access to a personal computer.
