Job Summary

Seeking a motivated and results-driven Benefits Advisor to join an Employee Benefits team. This full-time, remote position is ideal for a sales professional with a proven track record in B2B sales who is eager to develop new business relationships, build a sustainable pipeline, and assist employers in navigating the complexities of employee benefits. Reporting to the Director of Sales or Chief Sales Officer, the Benefits Advisor will play a key role in driving business growth through consultative and relationship-driven sales strategies.

Responsibilities

New Business Development

  • Identify and prospect potential clients through networking, referrals, cold outreach, and community involvement.
  • Build and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified opportunities.
  • Conduct discovery meetings to understand employer needs, challenges, and goals.
  • Present tailored benefits solutions that address client pain points and business objectives.
  • Negotiate and close new business, managing the sales cycle from initial contact to signed agreement.

Sales Planning & Execution

  • Develop and execute a personal sales plan with clear activity metrics and revenue targets.
  • Follow a defined sales process and methodology, maintaining accurate records in the CRM system.
  • Prepare and deliver compelling proposals and presentations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth transitions from sale to implementation.
  • Participate in regular pipeline reviews and forecasting discussions.

Market & Relationship Building

  • Establish yourself as a trusted resource in the local business community.
  • Develop centers of influence, including CPAs, attorneys, HR consultants, and financial advisors.
  • Stay current on industry trends, carrier products, and regulatory changes affecting employee benefits.
  • Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and networking functions.

Qualifications/Requirements

Required

  • Minimum of 3 years of successful B2B sales experience with documented results.
  • Proven ability to prospect, build a pipeline, and close deals independently.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with excellent time management and organizational abilities.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems and standard business technology.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally for client meetings.

Preferred

  • Experience in selling professional services or other consultative/complex solutions.
  • Existing network of business relationships in the local market.
  • Life and Health insurance license (or willingness to obtain within 90 days of hire).
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
