Job Summary
The Commercial Insurance Account Manager/Customer Service Representative supports the servicing and administration of commercial lines accounts across a diverse book of business. This role focuses on day-to-day account maintenance, policy processing, and client support, with responsibilities scaled based on experience. The position involves frequent interaction with clients, carriers, and brokers while ensuring accuracy, organization, and timely follow-up.
Responsibilities
- Support commercial lines accounts across a mixed book, including construction, manufacturing, restaurant, and other business classes
- Enter and maintain accurate client and prospect data within the agency management system and carrier quoting platforms
- Request, review, and process quotes for General Liability, BOP/Package, Commercial Auto, Inland Marine, Builders Risk, and Workers’ Compensation
- Prepare, update, and submit insurance applications for client review and electronic signature
- Review policies, endorsements, audits, and other documentation for accuracy and completeness
- Coordinate corrections to General Liability and Workers’ Compensation audits as needed
- Request and track loss runs from insurance carriers and brokers
- Manage renewal workflows by requesting updated information, following up as needed, and preparing submissions for remarketing or quoting
- Answer inbound client calls and provide professional, courteous support
- Issue Certificates of Insurance as needed, while supporting a shared certificate workflow
- Save, organize, and maintain all policy and account documentation in accordance with agency standards
- Suspend items for follow-up and ensure timely completion of outstanding tasks
Qualifications / Requirements
- Commercial lines insurance experience preferred, with openness to training at varying experience levels
- Strong attention to detail and accurate data entry skills
- Professional, friendly communication style with clients, carriers, and internal partners
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Comfort working primarily in an office setting, including phone communication and electronic document handling
- Familiarity with commercial insurance coverages and rating platforms preferred
- Prior experience working with multiple insurance carriers and brokers is a plus
