Commercial Lines Leader
Position Overview:
The Commercial Lines Leader will be responsible for overseeing and managing the day-to-day operations of the commercial insurance division. This includes leading the team, developing and implementing strategic initiatives, maintaining relationships with clients, and ensuring the profitable growth of the commercial lines book of business. The role requires a strong knowledge of the commercial insurance market, exceptional leadership skills, and the ability to drive business results in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Team Management:
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of commercial lines producers, account managers, and underwriters.
- Develop and implement training programs to enhance team skills and knowledge of commercial insurance products and services.
- Foster a positive, collaborative work environment focused on team success and professional growth.
- Conduct performance evaluations, set team goals, and provide ongoing feedback and coaching.

Business Development:
- Develop and execute strategies to increase commercial lines sales and market share.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including expanding relationships with existing clients and developing new client partnerships.
- Oversee the negotiation, renewal, and placement of commercial insurance policies.
- Collaborate with the marketing department to create campaigns and strategies aimed at growing the book of business.

Client Relationship Management:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for key commercial clients, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Resolve client issues and concerns promptly and effectively.
- Work closely with clients to assess their evolving business needs and recommend appropriate insurance solutions.

Operational Efficiency:
- Ensure the smooth operation of day-to-day processes, including policy management, underwriting, claims, and billing.
- Monitor performance metrics, evaluate outcomes, and implement improvements to maximize efficiency and profitability.
- Collaborate with other departments, including claims and underwriting, to streamline operations and ensure the highest level of service delivery.

Financial Performance:
- Monitor the financial performance of the commercial lines book of business, ensuring profitability and growth.
- Analyze market trends, underwriting guidelines, and loss ratios to ensure competitive pricing and profitable accounts.
- Work with senior management to set and manage departmental budgets, forecasting, and financial targets.

Compliance & Risk Management:
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, industry standards, and company policies.
- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging risks, and changes in insurance regulations to ensure the company remains compliant and competitive.

Collaboration with Executive Leadership:
- Collaborate with executive leadership on long-term strategic planning and overall direction of the commercial insurance division.
- Provide insights and recommendations for the continued growth and development of the business.
Qualifications:

Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Insurance, Risk Management, or a related field (preferred).

Experience:
- 7+ years of experience in commercial lines insurance, including experience in a leadership or managerial role.
- Proven track record of business development and client relationship management.
- Strong understanding of commercial insurance products, including property, casualty, liability, workers' compensation, and specialty lines.

- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
- Proficient in insurance software, CRM systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
- Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.

Certifications:
- CIC (Certified Insurance Counselor), CRM (Certified Risk Manager), or other relevant industry certifications (preferred).
- Holds an active P&C (Property and Casualty) insurance license.
