Senior Claims Specialist - Employment Practices Liability (EPL)
Job Summary
Seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Claims Specialist to join a team. This role involves managing complex claims across Public and Private Directors & Officers (D&O), Financial Institutions, Employment Practices Liability (EPL), and Fiduciary Liability lines. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, sound judgment, and a commitment to delivering exceptional service to clients and broker partners. This position operates on a hybrid schedule, requiring four days in-office.
Compensation Package
- Base Salary Range: $86,000 - $150,000 per year
- Bonus: Annual discretionary bonus (target of 10%, not guaranteed)
- Profit Sharing: 5-12% in lieu of 401(k) match

The actual salary will be determined based on factors such as the scope and complexity of the role, as well as the candidate's skills, education, training, credentials, and experience.
Responsibilities
- Manage primary and low excess private company and employment practices claims, as well as excess financial institutions claims of moderate to high value and complexity.
- Resolve claims in accordance with company best practices and within designated authority limits.
- Conduct thorough coverage analysis, assess exposure, establish appropriate reserves, and review all aspects of legal proceedings.
- Attend mediations and trials as necessary.
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with insureds, brokers, and internal stakeholders throughout the claims lifecycle.
- Stay informed on legal developments and regulatory changes impacting claims handling and coverage.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) preferred but not mandatory.
- Minimum of 5+ years of claims handling experience or 3+ years of litigation experience, preferably as a coverage attorney.
- Demonstrated expertise in Employment Practices Liability (EPL).
- Ability to obtain and maintain required adjuster licenses within 90 days.
- Strong understanding of the insurance industry, claims processes, and the legal and regulatory environment.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and multitasking skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication abilities.
