Placement Specialist – Commercial Lines
About the Role
An independent insurance brokerage is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Placement Specialist to join the Commercial Lines team. This role is ideal for a licensed insurance professional who enjoys working closely with producers and underwriters to market and place both new and renewal business effectively.
Responsibilities
- Receive and review new business and renewal submissions for marketing
- Collaborate with producers and internal teams to identify client insurance needs
- Rate standard market submissions using carrier platforms
- Submit to excess/surplus lines markets when needed
- Communicate with carrier underwriters to ensure proper quoting of coverage
- Follow up on pending quotes and gather additional information when necessary
- Analyze and compare quotes across multiple carriers for best fit
- Verify quote accuracy and coverage alignment with client needs
- Present quote options to producers for review with prospects
- Bind coverages and review binders for accuracy
- Enter new clients and policy information into agency management software
- Assist with additional placement-related duties as assigned
Requirements
- Holds an active P&C (Property and Casualty) insurance license
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Commercial Lines insurance marketing
- Strong knowledge of Commercial Lines coverages and carrier appetites
- Familiarity with carrier rating platforms and underwriting guidelines
- Experience with agency management software preferred
- Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and think critically
Compensation Package
- Base salary: $70,000 – $80,000 (commensurate with experience)
