Position Overview

The Senior Controller / CFO will be a strategic business partner to the executive team, responsible for overseeing all financial operations, implementing scalable financial systems, supporting strategic mergers and acquisitions, and leading strategic initiatives that support sustainable growth. This individual will combine deep financial expertise with an entrepreneurial mindset, helping to model, forecast, and analyze opportunities that will shape the future direction of the business.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Financial Leadership: Partner with leadership to develop and execute financial strategies that support growth, profitability, and long-term value creation.
  • Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A): Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial modeling efforts to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Performance Analytics: Develop and manage key performance indicators (KPIs), ROI analyses, and profitability assessments across lines of business, products, and channels.
  • Scaling & Infrastructure: Strengthen financial processes, systems, and controls to support a growing, data-driven organization.
  • Mergers & Acquisitions: Lead financial due diligence, valuation, and integration planning for potential acquisitions and partnerships.
  • New Lines of Business: Evaluate and model the financial implications of expanding into new markets or product areas.
  • Reporting & Compliance: Oversee all accounting, reporting, and regulatory compliance activities to ensure accuracy and timeliness.

 

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA and/or MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive finance leadership experience, ideally within insurance, financial services, or a high-growth environment.
  • Proven experience scaling financial operations and systems to support organizational growth.
  • Strong background in financial modeling, forecasting, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead strategic initiatives such as M&A, new product launches, or business line expansion.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Entrepreneurial, hands-on, and analytical mindset with the ability to balance strategic vision and operational execution.

Salary/Compensation

  • Base Salary: $150K – $200K + bonus opportunities
