Job Title: Senior GL Claims Representative (Litigated B/I)

Job Summary

We are seeking a talented and experienced Senior General Liability (GL) Claims Representative specializing in Litigated Bodily Injury (B/I) claims. In this role, you will be responsible for investigating, managing, and resolving complex litigated bodily injury claims while ensuring adherence to company policies, industry standards, and applicable legal regulations. You will engage with internal and external stakeholders in order to deliver equitable and timely claim resolutions. Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of complex litigated bodily injury (B/I) claims, including thorough investigation, evaluation, resolution, and settlement negotiations.
• Collaborate with defense counsel, ensuring alignment on litigation strategy and timelines.
• Review and analyze medical records, legal documents, and policy language to assess liability and damages.
• Accurately document claim files with detailed notes and adhere to compliance guidelines.
• Communicate effectively with claimants, insured parties, attorneys, and other stakeholders to deliver clear updates and maintain transparency throughout the claims process.
• Implement strategic cost-containment measures, including alternative dispute resolution (ADR) methods.
• Provide mentorship to junior claims representatives, sharing expertise and fostering a collaborative team environment.
• Stay current with applicable industry regulations, legal precedents, and best practices in claims handling.
• Proactively contribute to process improvement initiatives and provide feedback to enhance operational efficiency.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Insurance, Risk Management, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
• A minimum of 5-7 years of experience handling General Liability Insurance and litigated bodily injury claims.
• Comprehensive understanding of legal principles, policy coverage, and liability determination related to bodily injury claims.
• Proven experience working with litigated claims, including collaboration with legal counsel and participation in mediations/settlement negotiations.
• Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in claims management systems and tools, as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with an emphasis on negotiation and conflict resolution.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize effectively under tight deadlines.
• Adjuster’s license or willingness and ability to obtain licensure where required.
• Knowledge of multiple state jurisdictions and legal environments.
• Experience in coaching or mentoring other claims professionals.
