Senior Litigation Claims Specialist – GLPD & Construction Defect
Job Summary
Seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Litigation Claims Specialist to join a team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing complex, high-exposure General Liability Property Damage (GLPD) and Construction Defect claims. This includes both litigated and non-litigated matters that involve significant severity and coverage complexity.

Key Responsibilities
- Investigate, evaluate, and resolve complex GLPD and Construction Defect claims.
- Conduct detailed policy coverage analysis and prepare coverage correspondence for supervisory review.
- Investigate liability and damages on high-exposure claims.
- Manage litigation by assigning approved panel counsel, establishing litigation plans and budgets, and coordinating case strategy.
- Establish and adjust timely and accurate reserves as claims develop.
- Maintain complete and up-to-date file documentation and ensure effective diary management.
- Complete large loss and internal reporting requirements in a timely manner.
- Negotiate settlements within granted authority and participate in mediations, settlement conferences, and alternative dispute resolution (ADR) proceedings.
- Oversee and control the work product and expenses of outside vendors and defense counsel.
- Identify opportunities for risk transfer, co-insurance, contribution, and subrogation.
- Manage designated accounts and maintain strong customer relationships.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, internal guidelines, and best practices.
- Support deductible and self-insured retention recovery protocols.
- Maintain required state licensing and fulfill continuing education requirements.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Industry designations such as AIC, SCLA, CRIS, or similar are preferred.
- 5–10 years of experience in Construction Defect and General Liability Property Damage claims.
- Proven track record of managing litigated, high-severity claims.
- Strong analytical, investigative, and negotiation skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Comprehensive knowledge of insurance coverage, legal procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment while maintaining productivity and high-quality work standards.
