Wholesale Commercial Insurance Underwriter - Hybrid

Job Summary

Looking for a highly motivated and experienced Commercial Lines Underwriter to join a growing team. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional with a strong background in wholesale insurance and production.

Compensation Package

• Base Salary: $70,000 - $90,000 + bonus opportunities

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with retail agents and brokers
• Quote and underwrite new and renewal Professional Lines business, adhering to underwriting guidelines
• Focus on new business development while managing a balanced book of business (60% new business, 40% renewals)
• Conduct marketing visits each month with retail agents to promote products and services
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless service delivery
• Utilize and adapt to agency management software

Qualifications/Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in Excess & Surplus (E&S) placements, with a preference for 5+ years
• Proven production experience in a wholesale insurance environment
• Property & Casualty license (or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire)
• Strong sales acumen and a growth-oriented mindset
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Self-motivated, driven, and personable with a focus on building long-term relationships
• Familiarity with Salesforce and other underwriting software is a plus
