Commercial Lines Renewal Account Manager - Remote
Summary:
The Renewal Account Manager on the Client Care Team is responsible for delivering exceptional service to our small commercial insurance clients (accounts with premiums under $20,000). This role ensures all service and risk management needs are met in line with agency standards and workflows, upholding our commitment to “No Excuse Client Service.”
Key Responsibilities:

Build and maintain strong relationships with assigned clients through regular communication via phone and email.

Clearly explain policy coverage details, and advise clients on potential policy changes or enhancements.

Collect completed and signed applications in compliance with agency and carrier requirements.

Respond promptly to client inquiries related to policy coverage, following established workflows.

Handle and resolve billing-related issues for clients.

Issue certificates of insurance, evidence of property coverage, cancellation notices, reinstatements, interim reports, and related documents in accordance with agency procedures.

Process policy changes and update coverage as requested by clients.

Identify cross-selling opportunities and refer them to the Sales Executive or Account Executive as needed.

Review incoming policies for accuracy and ensure quality standards are met.

Request necessary corrections or endorsements from insurance carriers.

Collaborate with the Sales Executive (when applicable) to manage the renewal process, review upcoming expirations, and collect required information to ensure timely renewals.

Investigate reasons behind client-initiated cancellations and work with the Sales Executive (if applicable) to retain the account.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records within the agency management system, ensuring all transactions and documents are properly filed.

Assist the Sales Executive (if applicable) with new business and renewal processing by assembling applications, proposals, binders, and ID cards per agency guidelines.

Stay current on insurance policies, coverages, underwriting criteria, and carrier appetites through bulletins and digital updates.

Participate in continuing education, training seminars, and professional development initiatives, especially those focused on avoiding errors and omissions.

Qualifications & Experience:

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with agency management systems is a plus.

Strong understanding of insurance coverages, underwriting, rating, and risk management principles.

Deep knowledge of commercial insurance products and industry practices.

Ability to identify coverage gaps and provide recommendations, including offering additional policies when suitable.

High school diploma required; college degree preferred. Prior experience in an insurance agency is advantageous.
