Job Title: Commercial Lines Account Manager (Construction Focus)

Location: Hybrid out of Lynbrook, NY 

About the Role:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and client-focused Commercial Lines Account Manager with proven experience in a brokerage or independent agency environment. This role is ideal for a professional who thrives in managing complex construction accounts and delivering exceptional service to clients in the construction industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a portfolio of commercial lines accounts with a strong emphasis on construction clients (e.g., general contractors, subcontractors, developers).
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing day-to-day service, policy management, and coverage guidance.
  • Review policies, endorsements, certificates, and applications for accuracy and completeness.
  • Coordinate renewals, remarket accounts as needed, and negotiate with carriers to obtain competitive terms.
  • Analyze client exposures and recommend appropriate coverage solutions, including General Liability, Workers’ Compensation, Builders Risk, Umbrella/Excess, and Commercial Auto.
  • Prepare and issue certificates of insurance and manage compliance requirements (including contract review when applicable).
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with insurance carriers and underwriters.
  • Assist producers in new business placement and client retention strategies.
  • Stay current on industry trends, coverage forms, and regulatory requirements—especially within the construction sector.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience working in a brokerage or independent insurance agency.
  • Direct experience handling construction accounts is required.
  • Previous management of a 3+ Million dollar book of business 
  • Strong knowledge of commercial lines coverages and policy structures.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple accounts and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with agency management systems (e.g., Applied Epic, AMS360, or similar).
  • Active insurance license 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with mid-market to large construction accounts.
  • Familiarity with contract review and risk transfer requirements.
  • Professional designations (e.g., CISR, CIC, CRM) are a plus.
