Job Summary
The Chief Operating Officer is responsible for overseeing all operational and sales functions within the agency. This role requires hands-on leadership in property & casualty operations, with a strong emphasis on driving revenue growth, optimizing processes, and managing both people and partnerships. The ideal candidate brings extensive P&C industry expertise, proven production experience, and a track record of leading sales and operational teams to achieve strategic objectives.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with account managers to ensure client needs are met and service standards are upheld
- Develop and maintain strategic relationships with carrier partners and external vendors
- Lead recruitment, performance management, and, when necessary, termination decisions for operational and sales staff
- Make executive-level decisions on resource allocation, process improvements, and organizational priorities
- Oversee departmental budgets, forecasts, and operational metrics to drive profitability and efficiency
- Provide coaching and mentorship to direct reports, fostering a culture of accountability and growth
- Participate in industry events as a company representative, with limited travel required
Qualifications/Requirements
- 10 years of experience in the insurance industry preferred, with at least 5 years in property & casualty operations or sales leadership
- Demonstrated success as a practice leader, regional sales director, producer, or account manager with P&C focus
- Strong production experience and sales acumen, with a proven ability to drive revenue growth in a sales-driven environment
- Exceptional leadership skills, including people-management, cross-functional communication, and change management
- Ability to wear multiple hats; a strategic thinker who can also execute day-to-day tasks independently
- Solid decision-making capabilities, with experience making high-stakes operational and personnel judgments
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with internal teams and external partners
- Holds an active P&C (Property and Casualty) insurance license
Compensation Package
- Compensation: Between $160K–$240K (based on experience)
